The principle

A personal palette is not about favourite colours — it is about colours that consistently serve your ideas. Many designers return to a small group of hues across years of work. Defining yours gives your work recognition and helps you make faster, more confident decisions.

Objective. Define a personal colour palette with rules for its use.

The brief

Review your previous posters, extract the colours you use most effectively, refine them into a palette of four or five, and design a poster that shows it off.

Constraints

  • Four or five colours
  • Name each colour
  • Define a rule for when each is used

You're done when

  • A refined, named palette
  • Clear rules for use
  • A poster that shows the palette at its best

Stretch goal

Combine your palette with your type system from Day 94 in the same poster.
